St. Mary’s Development and Care Centre Founder

St. Mary’s Development and Care Centre (DCC), founded in February 1982 to provide food and clothing for children from disadvantaged communities, first operated in Curry Street before moving in November 1982 to its current location at Albany and Fitchat Streets.

Today, the Centre cares for 160 children through before- and after-school programmes. While still meeting children’s basic needs, it has grown to take a holistic approach, addressing the broader needs of both the children and their families.
